Welcome to the Rosa J. Young School. We are dedicated to the holistic education of the head, hand, and heart. Rooted in the rich history of the Alabama Black Belt, our institution stands on the shoulders of the Mother of Black Lutheranism—a woman who believed that every vocation in life implies service.
Our Heritage
Founded in the spirit of the original Rosebud Literary and Industrial School (1912), we honor a community that overcame poverty and economic devastation to build a lasting educational movement. Just as Rosa J. Young partnered with the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod to establish schools and congregations across Alabama, we remain committed to academic excellence and spiritual growth.

Rosa J. Young Academies, Inc. welcomes gifts, contributions, donations, and bequests to support its mission and growth.
While unrestricted gifts are encouraged to allow flexibility in meeting organizational needs, the Board of Directors may accept restricted gifts when they align with RJYA’s bylaws and established guidelines.
